1940s and WW2

The 1940s was a hard decade for Britain recovering from WW2, with rationing still in place for materials which meant that clothing was scarce and many items were ‘make do and mend’. Fabric was in short supply, so garments were cut economically and skirts were not full.

Floral prints dominated the early 1940’s with skirt length below the knee and hair  elegantly styled.

RAF, Naval and Army Uniforms

A good choice of military wear is also available for army, RAF and navy, together with dungarees suitable for land army girls and wrap around aprons for war time tea ladies.
