16th Century Costumes

Costumes during this period were made from natural fibres and very simple patterns. There were no zips, velcro or nylon and the colours for the poor or peasant people were very natural greys, browns and fawns usually made from plant extracts.

We have some excellent costumes that are suitable for this period and useful for plays like the Crucible, Vinegar Tom and Blackadder or for Tudor times.

Whilst the rich had highly coloured velvets and gold cloaks, the peasant class wore colourless, plain and shapeless garments.
